Get Claude To Control Any Website

Two free tools let Claude Code control any website. Firecrawl lets Claude read and understand any web page, search the web, and get past sites that block bots. Playwright gives Claude the ability to click, type, scroll, and navigate real browsers. Together, they turn Claude into a full digital assistant that works on the internet for you.

Step 1: Set Up Firecrawl

Go to firecrawl.dev and create a free account. Copy your API key. Then open Claude Code and paste this:

pip install firecrawl-py

Tell Claude: "Save my Firecrawl API key: [your key]". The free tier gives you 500 pages per month.

Step 2: Install Playwright

Paste this next:

pip install playwright && playwright install chromium

This installs Playwright and downloads a browser for Claude to use. Takes about 60 seconds.

Test It

Tell Claude this to verify everything works:

Use Playwright to go to google.com and take a screenshot.

If you see the screenshot, you are all set.

5 Copy Paste Starter Prompts

1. Scrape and post on LinkedIn

Use Playwright to log into LinkedIn and create a post about [topic]. Make it
professional and engaging.

2. Fill out forms and applications

Use Playwright to go to [URL] and fill out the form with this information: [your
details]

3. Pull data from protected sites

Use Firecrawl to scrape [URL] and extract all [data type] into a spreadsheet. This
site blocks bots so use proxy mode.

4. Work inside apps that don't have APIs

Use Playwright to log into [tool name] and [specific task]. This tool doesn't have
an API so use the browser to do it directly.

This works for any web app: CRMs, project management tools, email platforms, DNS settings, admin dashboards. If it runs in a browser, Claude can use it.

5. Multi step workflow across sites

Use Playwright to log into [tool], export last month's data, then use Firecrawl to
read [other site] and compare the numbers. Save the results to a spreadsheet.
