Take any spreadsheet you already use and turn it into a real web app with a clean interface, forms, filters, and search. No code required. You just describe what you want in plain English and Claude Code builds it. The whole process takes about 10 minutes and the app runs locally on your computer, so your data stays private.

What You'll Learn

  • The full spreadsheet to web app process, start to finish
  • The exact copy paste build prompt
  • How to run the app locally and iterate on it

The example in this guide is a wedding guest list, but the exact same process works for any spreadsheet: client trackers, inventory, budgets, habit trackers, project lists, anything. The prompt and steps are identical.

What You Need

  • Claude Code installed (free from claude.com/code)
  • A Claude Pro subscription ($20/month)
  • Any spreadsheet you already use (Google Sheets or Excel)
  • The UI-UX Pro Max skill installed (Step 1)
  • No coding experience required

Step 1: Install The UI-UX Pro Max Skill

This is what makes the apps Claude builds actually look good instead of plain and boring.

Repo: https://github.com/nextlevelbuilder/ui-ux-pro-max-skill

Open Claude Code and tell it: "Install the skill from this GitHub repo." Claude handles the rest.

Step 2: Export Your Spreadsheet

Open your spreadsheet and export it as a CSV file.

  • In Google Sheets: File > Download > Comma Separated Values (.csv)
  • In Excel: File > Save As > CSV

Save it somewhere you can find easily.

Step 3: Drop The CSV Into Claude Code

Open Claude Code in a new empty folder. Drag your CSV into the chat. Then paste this prompt:

I'm giving you a CSV of my [what the data is]. I want you to:
1. Analyze the columns and understand what I'm using this spreadsheet for
2. Build me a working web app that I can run locally to view and play with this data
3. The app should include:
- A clean interface that looks professional (use the UI-UX Pro Max skill)
- Forms to add, edit, and delete entries
- Filters and search across all the columns that matter
- A mobile-friendly view
4. Use the simplest tech stack possible (Next.js works great)
5. When it's ready, give me the exact commands to run it on my computer
Ask me 2-3 quick clarifying questions first about what I want to use this app for.
Then start building.

Just replace [what the data is] with whatever your spreadsheet is: a wedding guest list, a client tracker, an inventory sheet, a budget, anything.

Step 4: Run It Locally

Claude will build the app and give you commands to run it. Usually something like:

npm install
npm run dev

Open http://localhost:3000 in your browser. Try adding a new entry. Filter by different columns. Search for a term. The app runs entirely on your computer so it is private and instant.

How To Iterate

The first version is a starting point. You can keep adding features by telling Claude what you want:

  • Add a dashboard with charts showing trends
  • Add a dark mode toggle
  • Color code entries based on a status column
  • Add a print friendly view I can use on paper
  • Generate a summary report based on what is in the data

Each change takes about 5 minutes. You never touch the code. When you are ready, you can also have Claude put your app on the internet so you can share it with anyone, but everything runs privately on your computer until then.
