Computer Use is a feature in Claude Code that lets Claude take control of your computer and do full tasks for you. It sees your screen, moves your mouse, clicks buttons, and types on your keyboard. Any manual boring task you would normally do yourself, Claude can now do for you.
What You'll Learn
- The step by step Computer Use setup
- 8 real use cases with exact prompts
- The Min Browser trick for full read/write access
The Min Browser Trick
Anthropic blocks Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge from full read/write access with Computer Use. To get around this, install the Min browser (minbrowser.org). It is free, open source, and not on the block list. Log into your accounts in Min and Claude gets full control to browse, click, type, and interact with any website.
Setup (2 Minutes)
- Install the Claude Desktop app. Go to claude.ai/download and install the Claude Desktop app (not just the Claude Code CLI).
- Open the Co-work or Code tab. Computer Use works from the Co-work and Code tabs in the desktop app. Open either one.
- Enable in settings. Go to Settings > General. Scroll down and enable both Browser Use (for the Claude Chrome extension) and Computer Use (for screenshot + keyboard/mouse control). Grant screen recording and accessibility permissions when prompted.
- Install Min browser. Download Min from minbrowser.org. Log into any accounts you want Claude to access (LinkedIn, Instagram, Google Ads, etc). This gives Claude full read/write browser access.
- Test it. Go to Co-work and say: "With computer use, open Min browser and go to LinkedIn." If Claude opens Min and navigates, you are set.
Force Computer Use: start your prompts with "With computer use..." or "Using computer use..." to make sure Claude actually uses the feature instead of trying API based approaches. It is token intensive so Claude sometimes tries to avoid it unless you are explicit.
8 Real Use Cases
These are not toy demos. Each one replaces hours of real work.
1. LinkedIn connection requests
With computer use, open Min browser and go to my LinkedIn. Search for [job
title/industry] in [city]. Send connection requests to the first 10 results.
Customize each request like: 'Hey [first name], saw [casual version of company name]
and I think we'd connect well given our interests.' Use the connect button on each
profile.
2. Lead list building
With computer use, open Min and go to LinkedIn. Find 10 small businesses in [city]
that [criteria - e.g. might need a website, are in the restaurant industry, have
fewer than 50 employees]. For each one, pull the business name, owner name, and
website URL. Save the results in a spreadsheet on my desktop called leads.csv.
3. Content inspiration scraping
With computer use, open Min and go to LinkedIn. Scrape my feed for 10 posts about
[topic]. Save the trending ones to a file on my desktop with the post text, author
name, and engagement count. I want to use these for content inspiration.
4. Competitor ad research
With computer use, open Min and go to [Meta Ad Library / Google Ads Transparency
Center]. Search for ads from [competitor name]. Screenshot the top 5 ads and save
them to a folder on my desktop. Note the ad copy, offer, and creative type in a
spreadsheet.
5. Competitor pricing comparison
With computer use, open Min and visit these 5 competitor websites: [URLs]. Find each
pricing page and pull their plan names, prices, and key features. Organize
everything into a comparison spreadsheet on my desktop.
6. Contact form outreach
With computer use, fill out the contact forms on these websites: [list URLs]. Use
this info - Name: [your name], Email: [email], Phone: [phone], Message: 'Hi, I help
[industry] businesses with [service]. Would love to connect - are you available for
a quick call this week?' Submit each form.
7. Google Ads cleanup
With computer use, open Min and go to my Google Ads dashboard. Click through all
active campaigns and find the cost per lead for each ad. Turn off any ad with a cost
per lead above $[threshold]. Leave the top performers running.
8. Restaurant booking
With computer use, open Min and find a restaurant in [city] with good reviews that
has availability for [number] people on [date] at [time]. Book the reservation using
my name: [name] and email: [email].
Tips For Better Results
- Always start prompts with "With computer use" to force the feature on
- Use Min browser for anything that needs full website interaction. Claude cannot do read/write in Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or Edge
- Log into your accounts in Min before asking Claude to use them (LinkedIn, Instagram, Google Ads, etc)
- Be specific about where to save results: "Save to a spreadsheet on my desktop called leads.csv"
- Break complex tasks into steps if Claude gets confused. "First open Min and go to LinkedIn. Then search for..."
- Close unnecessary apps and tabs. Fewer distractions on screen means Claude stays focused
- Watch the first run to make sure it is doing what you expect. You can jump in and make adjustments at any point
- Respect platform limits. LinkedIn, Instagram, and others have outreach caps. Do not try to send thousands of messages
