What Claude Cowork Is

Cowork is the collaborative workspace built into the Claude desktop app. It renders artifacts live as Claude builds them, which means you see each slide take shape in real time instead of getting a text description. Most people don't know Cowork can do design work. That's the unlock.

Step 1: Open Cowork

• Open the Claude desktop app (not the web version)
• Go into the Cowork workspace
• Start a new session
• You're ready to paste the prompt

Step 2: The Prompt Template

Copy this entire prompt into Cowork. Then just tell Claude about your presentation: what it's about, who it's for, and what you want the audience to walk away with.

Build me a presentation deck in Cowork. Render each slide as you go so I can see it live.

PROCESS:
1. First, generate a complete outline. Show me the outline and wait for my approval before building.
2. Once approved, build each slide one at a time, rendering in the canvas.
3. Each slide must include:
- A clear headline (one line, 8 words max)
- 3-5 supporting points or one strong visual
- Consistent typography and color scheme across the whole deck
- Match my brand colors and style if I provide them
- Real visual hierarchy (not just bulleted text)
4. Use one accent color throughout. Don't use more than 3 total colors.
5. Do NOT use stock photos or placeholder images. Use icons, shapes, or typography-led layouts.
6. Export the final deck as a PowerPoint file (.pptx) so I can open it in presenter mode.

Tips For Better Results

• Be specific about your audience. "Board of directors who want to see ROI" beats "executives."
• If you have brand colors, include the hex codes in your message. Claude will match them exactly.
• Review the outline before Claude starts building. Fixing structure at the outline stage saves iterations later.
• 10 to 12 slides is the sweet spot for a 10 to 15 minute presentation. Don't ask for too many.
• After the first build, tell Claude what to change. "Make slide 5 more visual" or "change the accent color to blue." Each iteration takes about 30 seconds.
• The PowerPoint export means you can present from any computer with presenter mode, notes view, and slide transitions.
