No newsletters. No Twitter. No YouTube recaps. One prompt, 10 seconds, always current. Here are 10 ready-made briefing prompts that replace hours of manual research with a custom AI newsletter built on demand.

What You'll Learn

  • 10 ready-made prompts for daily, weekly, and monthly AI briefings
  • How to customize briefings for your specific industry and tools
  • The "last 30 days" trick that replaces newsletters, Twitter, and YouTube recaps

The Problem: AI Moves Too Fast

Every day there's a new model, a new tool, a new feature, a new framework update. If you take a week off, you come back to a completely different landscape. Most people try to keep up with newsletters, Twitter/X, YouTube recaps, Reddit, Discord servers, and Hacker News. That's 2+ hours a day just reading about AI instead of using it.

There's a simpler way. Open Claude, type one prompt with "last 30 days" or "last 24 hours," and get a custom briefing on exactly the topics you care about. No subscriptions. No algorithms. No information overload. Just the signal, none of the noise.

Why this works: Claude searches the live web and filters by time. "Last 30 days" gives you the month's biggest developments. "Last 24 hours" gives you today's breaking news. "Last 7 days" gives you a weekly digest. You control the topic, the timeframe, and the depth. It's a personal AI newsletter that's always customized to you.

How To Set It Up (3 Steps)

  1. Open Claude. Claude Code in your terminal, Claude Desktop, or claude.ai in your browser. Any version works; you just need Claude's web search capability.
  2. Type your first briefing prompt. Try: "Search for the most important AI news from the last 30 days. Summarize the top 10 updates I need to know about." Claude searches the web, pulls recent sources, and gives you a clean, prioritized summary.
  3. Customize and repeat. Change the timeframe: "last 24 hours" for daily, "last 7 days" for weekly, "last 30 days" for monthly. Change the topic: "Claude Code updates," "open source AI," "AI in healthcare," whatever you care about. Save your favorite prompts and run them whenever you want a briefing.

10 Ready-Made Briefing Prompts

Copy these prompts and use them as-is, or customize them for your specific interests.

Prompt 1: Daily AI news briefing

Search for the most important AI developments from the last 24 hours. Give me a prioritized summary of the top 5 things I need to know: new model releases, major tool updates, funding rounds, and breaking announcements. Include source links.

Use case: Run every morning before work. Replaces scanning Twitter, Hacker News, and 5 newsletters. Takes 10 seconds instead of 30 minutes.

Prompt 2: Weekly tool roundup

What new AI tools launched in the last 7 days that are worth trying? Focus on tools that are free or have a free tier, that solve real problems, and that I can start using today. Skip anything that's just a wrapper around ChatGPT.

Use case: Run every Monday. Discover tools before they go viral. The filter for "free tier" and "not just a wrapper" saves you from hype and vaporware.

Prompt 3: Competitor watch

What has [COMPETITOR NAME] announced, released, or changed in the last 30 days? Include product updates, pricing changes, new features, partnerships, and any press coverage. Summarize what matters for someone competing with them.

Use case: Replace [COMPETITOR NAME] with any company you're watching. Run monthly. You'll know about competitor moves before your team does.

Prompt 4: Framework and language updates

What changed in [React / Next.js / Python / Node.js / your framework] in the last 30 days? New releases, deprecations, security patches, breaking changes, and notable community discussions. Prioritize anything that affects production apps.

Use case: Run monthly for every framework in your stack. Catches breaking changes and deprecations before they surprise you in production.

Prompt 5: Industry + AI intersection

What happened in the last 24 hours at the intersection of AI and [YOUR INDUSTRY: healthcare, finance, education, legal, marketing, real estate, etc.]? Focus on practical applications, new regulations, and tools that industry professionals are actually using.

Use case: Stay current on AI in your specific field. The industry filter cuts out 90% of the noise.

Prompt 6: AI model release tracker

What new AI models were released in the last 30 days? Compare them on capabilities, pricing, speed, and context window. Which ones are worth switching to and which ones are incremental improvements?

Use case: Run monthly. Cuts through the hype of every new model announcement and tells you which ones actually matter for your workflow.

Prompt 7: Open source AI monitor

What are the most starred new open-source AI repositories from the last 7 days on GitHub? Focus on tools, frameworks, and models, not tutorials or awesome-lists. For each one, explain what it does and why developers are excited about it.

Use case: Run weekly. Discover open-source tools before they hit mainstream coverage.

Prompt 8: Security and vulnerability alerts

Are there any new CVEs, security advisories, or vulnerability disclosures from the last 24 hours that affect [your tech stack: Node.js, Python, React, Docker, AWS, etc.]? Summarize severity, impact, and whether I need to patch immediately.

Use case: Run daily. Catches critical security issues before they become incidents. The severity filter prevents alert fatigue.

Prompt 9: AI startup funding tracker

What were the biggest AI startup funding rounds in the last 30 days? For each one, tell me what the company builds, how much they raised, who invested, and why it matters for the AI landscape.

Use case: Run monthly. Follow the money to understand where AI is heading. Funding signals what investors think will matter in 12 to 18 months.

Prompt 10: Research paper digest

What are the most discussed AI research papers from the last 7 days? Summarize each one in plain English: what they found, why it matters, and how it might affect real-world AI tools in the next 6 months. Skip highly theoretical papers with no practical implications.

Use case: Run weekly. Understand cutting-edge research without reading 40-page papers.

Power Tips

  • Stack timeframes. Run "last 24 hours" daily, "last 7 days" on Mondays, and "last 30 days" on the first of each month. Three prompts cover everything.
  • Save your prompts. Keep your favorite briefing prompts in a text file or CLAUDE.md so you can run them with one paste.
  • Add follow-ups. After a briefing, ask: "Which of these is most relevant to someone building [your project]?" Claude filters the results for your situation.
  • Use /loop for automation. In Claude Code, type /loop daily with your briefing prompt and Claude compiles your briefing automatically every morning.
  • Go deeper on anything. See something interesting? "Tell me more about #3" turns a summary into a deep dive.
  • Share with your team. Copy the briefing into Slack, email, or a Google Doc. Your whole team stays current from one person's 10-second prompt.

Start here: Pick one prompt from this list. The Daily AI News Briefing (#1) is the easiest starting point. Run it right now. See what Claude finds. Then customize it for your industry or tech stack. One prompt. Ten seconds. Always current.
