22% of the world uses Gmail. 99% of them have a static profile photo. Yours doesn't have to be. This is the 60-second Claude + Kie.AI workflow for animating your logo so every email you send moves in someone's inbox.
What You'll Learn
- Why static profile photos are the silent reason your emails get scrolled past
- How to connect Kie.AI to Claude (one-time setup, 5 minutes)
- The 5-step workflow that turns your logo into a Gmail-ready animated GIF
- How to upload it to Gmail so every email you send moves in their inbox
Why This Works
22% of the global population uses Gmail. 75% of the US market uses Gmail. That is roughly 1.8 billion inboxes. Open one of those inboxes right now. Every profile photo is frozen. Every single one.
Your eye is wired to notice movement. In a sea of static circles, an animated profile photo is the only thing that catches the eye on scroll. Subject lines, sender names, preview text, all of those get blurred together. A moving profile photo doesn't. It is pattern interrupt at the inbox level, before the email is even opened.
Why almost nobody does this: most people think Gmail profile photos are static images only. They are not. Gmail accepts animated GIFs as profile photos. The mechanics have been there for years. The reason it works is that nobody else is using it.
The 5-Step Workflow
Three of these steps happen inside Claude Code. The other two are 30-second clicks in Gmail. Total time, start to finish, is about 60 seconds once you have done it once.
1. Save your logo as a PNG. Have your logo (or any square image you want as your profile photo) saved as a PNG file on your desktop. Any size works, Claude will resize it.
2. Open Claude Code, drag in the logo, and prompt. Use this prompt:
Animate this logo as a subtle heartbeat GIF for my Gmail profile photo using kie.ai Seedance. Compress it to under 1MB and around 280px wide.
3. Let Claude generate it. Claude calls the kie.ai API, generates a 5-second heartbeat animation with the Seedance image-to-video model, then converts and compresses it to a Gmail-ready GIF. It saves to your Documents folder.
4. Upload to Gmail. Go to myaccount.google.com, click your profile photo at the top right, hit the camera icon, and drag in the GIF Claude just generated.
5. Save and send a test. Save the new profile photo. Send yourself a test email to confirm the heartbeat loops in the inbox view. You are done. Every email you send from this account now moves in someone's inbox.
One-Time Setup: Connect Kie.AI to Claude
If you have not connected Kie.AI to Claude yet, do this once before Step 2 above. Kie.AI is the MCP server that plugs Claude into GPT Image 2 and the Seedance animation models. Once connected, Claude can generate a GIF directly inside the same chat where you drop your logo.
- Get your Kie.AI API key. Create an account at kie.ai, top up $5 to start, and grab your API key. The same key unlocks GPT Image 2, Seedance video, Flux, Veo, and Suno.
- Install Claude Code if you do not have it yet (free to use with a Claude Pro subscription): visit anthropic.com/claude-code.
- Add the Kie MCP server to Claude Code. Run
claude mcp add kie-imageand point it at thenpx kie-image-mcp@latestserver command, supplying the API key from kie.ai where the setup asks for it. Restart Claude Code. You only do this once. - Gmail profile photo settings live at myaccount.google.com. Click your profile photo at the top right of any Google product.
Why Your Open Rates Go Up
There are two reasons. First, motion catches the eye on scroll. Your email is no longer just another row of text in a list, it is the row with the moving thing. Second, an animated profile photo is a quiet quality signal. It tells the recipient you put thought into your sender presentation. Recipients open senders who feel professional faster than senders who feel default.
Do not overdo it. Subtle wins. A logo that pulses gently or has a soft light pass across it feels premium. A logo that bounces, spins, or strobes feels desperate. Less movement, more credibility.
The Compound Effect
You set this up once. Every email you send for the rest of your life moves in someone's inbox. Cold outreach. Newsletters. Customer support. Sales follow-ups. Every single touch point gets the pattern interrupt while every other sender stays frozen. The 60-second setup compounds across every email you ever send from that account.
Time saved: 60 seconds of setup vs the alternative, paying for email warm-up tools, optimizing subject lines, A/B testing send times. Most people skip the easiest leverage and spend money on the harder ones. Animate the photo first, optimize the rest later.
