What Claude Design Is

Claude Design is a platform at claude.ai/design. You describe what you want, Claude designs it using Opus 4.7, and you refine it through conversation, inline comments, direct text editing, or custom adjustment sliders. It creates slide decks, prototypes, landing pages, one-pagers, wireframes, pitch decks, social media assets, marketing collateral, and interactive websites. Available on Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise plans.

Automatic Brand Design System

During onboarding, Claude reads your existing codebase and design files and builds a design system from them. Colors, typography, and components. Every single project after that uses your brand automatically. You can refine the system over time and teams can maintain more than one. You can also use the web capture tool to grab elements directly from your live website so prototypes look like the real product.

How To Get Started

1. Go to claude.ai/design. Available on Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise plans. Included with your subscription.
2. Set up your brand. Claude will ask to read your website or design files. Let it. This builds your design system automatically.
3. Pick what you want to create. Slide deck, prototype, landing page, one-pager, wireframe. Pick the type and describe what you need.
4. Refine until it's right. Chat with Claude, leave inline comments on specific elements, edit text directly, or use the adjustment sliders to tweak spacing, color, and layout.
5. Export or hand off. Canva, PowerPoint, PDF, standalone HTML, or hand off directly to Claude Code to build it.

Edit Controls

Claude Design has built-in editing that goes beyond just prompting. You can leave inline comments on any specific element and Claude will make the change. You can edit text directly on the design. Claude creates custom adjustment sliders for things like spacing, color, and layout so you can tweak without re-prompting. And you can ask Claude to apply a change across the full design at once.

Export Options

1. PowerPoint (.pptx): full slide deck export. Opens in PowerPoint, Google Slides, or Keynote.
2. Canva: direct export to Canva where it becomes a fully editable Canva design.
3. PDF: flat export for sharing or printing.
4. Standalone HTML: self-contained HTML file. Open in any browser.
5. Claude Code handoff: Claude packages everything into a handoff bundle you can pass to Claude Code to build the real thing.

The Market Impact

Within hours of the announcement, Figma's stock fell 7%, Adobe dropped 2.7%, Wix fell 4.7%, and GoDaddy declined 3%. Investors see Claude Design as a real threat to the entire design and web creation ecosystem. Anthropic says Claude Design is about interoperability, not replacement, pointing to the Canva export and PPTX support. But the market disagrees.
