The Three Tools

Claude (The Chatbot)

This is the one you probably already use. Go to claude.ai or open the mobile app and you have a conversation. Claude answers questions, writes content, analyzes documents, and helps you think through problems. It is your thinking partner.

Cowork (The Assistant)

Cowork runs inside the Claude desktop app on your Mac or PC. The difference from regular Claude is that Cowork can access your files. It reads folders, creates documents, organizes data, formats reports, and works in the background while you do other things. It can even run on a schedule and complete tasks without you asking it to start.

Best for:

• Cleaning and organizing your inbox
• Organizing receipts into a spreadsheet
• Turning meeting notes into formatted reports
• Sorting and renaming files across folders

• Running scheduled tasks automatically without you starting them

Cowork also has connectors for Google Drive, Gmail, Canva, and other tools. And with Dispatch, you can send it tasks from your phone while you are away from your computer.

Claude Code (The Developer)

Claude Code is the tool for people who want to build things. You can use it in the desktop app or from your terminal. It writes code, builds entire applications, deploys websites, creates agents, and automates workflows. You do not need to be a developer to use it. If you want something built, this is the one.

summarizing what's been done and what's still open, and save it to my Desktop.

Every Monday at 9am, check my Documents folder for any new meeting notes and turn
them into a formatted summary with action items.

Claude Code prompts

Build me a landing page that collects name and email, has a headline about [topic],
4 bullet points explaining the value, and deploy it live to Vercel.

Write a Python script that takes my weekly sales CSV, calculates totals by
category, and generates a clean report I can send to my team.

Build me an agent that takes a blog post and turns it into a Twitter thread,
LinkedIn post, and Instagram caption, then saves each one to a separate file.

How They Work Together

The real power is using all three together. Use Claude to brainstorm a content strategy. Use Claude Code to build the landing pages and email capture system. Use Cowork to organize the assets, format the reports, and handle the file management in the background.

• Claude Pro ($20/mo): full access to the Claude chatbot with higher limits
• Claude Max ($100/mo or $200/mo): unlocks Cowork, Dispatch, and higher usage limits for all tools
• Claude Code: included with Pro and Max subscriptions, runs from your terminal

If you are only using the chatbot, Pro is fine. If you want Cowork's file access and background tasks, you need Max. Claude Code works with both tiers.
