Anthropic will pay you $35,000 to learn Claude for a year, no degree required. This lesson breaks down exactly who qualifies, what Anthropic screens for, and the step-by-step application path.
What You'll Learn
- Who actually qualifies (it's wider than you think)
- What Anthropic is screening for
- The step-by-step application path

On June 11, 2026, Anthropic launched Claude Corps: a paid, year-long fellowship that places 1,000 early-career people inside nonprofits across America to build AI tools. It is fully funded by Anthropic, run with CodePath and Social Finance. You get paid to train on Claude, then spend a year doing real work. No degree required.
The offer at a glance: A $35,000 stipend over 11 months, plus up to $10,000 in education awards when you finish. 12 months, full-time, fully funded. You are a CodePath employee for the year.
Who Actually Qualifies
This is wider open than most AI opportunities. The bar is about who you are becoming, not what is on your resume.
- 18 or older
- Under two years of full-time work experience (this is for early-career people and career changers)
- No education requirement at all; you do not need a degree
- Based in the US, able to work full-time for the year
What Anthropic Is Screening For
Fellows are selected on three things: experience with AI, communication skills, and motivation to work on real societal challenges. Notice what is NOT on that list: a fancy degree or years of experience. That means the strongest thing you can show up with is genuine, hands-on AI experience.
How to stand out: Have real proof you actually use AI. Build a few small things with Claude, document them, and be able to talk about what you made and why. A scrappy portfolio of real AI projects beats a perfect resume here.
What You'll Actually Do
First, a training intensive through CodePath to get you strong with Claude and AI tooling. Then you are matched with a host nonprofit and spend 12 months embedded with their team, building tools and systems that extend their mission.
- Host organizations include the IRC, Goodwill, Code for America, RAINN, Year Up, YMCAs, food banks, and museums
- You build real AI tools that ship, not classroom exercises
- You get a designated mentor, an Anthropic technical contact, and a national cohort of peers
- You finish with a full year of paid, real-world AI experience on your resume
How To Apply
Applications are open now. The process has three stages:
- Apply at anthropic.com/claude-corps
- Match: interview with host organizations based on project fit and location
- Build: start the fellowship, train, then embed with your host for the year
Do this today: Go to anthropic.com/claude-corps, read the FAQ, and start your application. Then go build one small thing with Claude this week so you have something real to point to.
